Sant Joan de les Abadesses hosts a Girostudi information session for residents

The Town Hall’s council chamber will host the presentation on Thursday 22 October at 7:00 pm, where the impact of this pioneering local health project on the town will be explained.

Next November, the Girostudi fieldwork will make a stop in Sant Joan de les Abadesses, but preparations are already underway. To share all the details of the initiative, the Town Council and the project’s technical team (promoted by Dipsalut and the Generalitat de Catalunya) have organised an information session for all residents on Thursday 22 October in the council chamber.

Listening to our local reality

Unlike other studies designed from major metropolises, Girostudi focuses on local health. Thursday’s session will offer a first-hand look at how the project will analyse the way our environment, daily life, and habits influence the well-being of people in the town.

Having this local data is essential to understand our concerns and how we live. The ultimate goal of the research is to gather real data from the area to help improve public services and adapt health policies to the needs of Sant Joan de les Abadesses, looking after our well-being today to leave the best legacy for future generations.

How will the fieldwork process work?

The study will officially begin in the town from 11 November. During the talk on 22 October, the process of taking part will be explained: from receiving the official invitation letter and the subsequent phone call, right through to the interview stage.

This open meeting will be the ideal place to answer any practical questions, understand how full data confidentiality is guaranteed, and meet the accredited professionals who will conduct the interviews.

Public involvement, a key element

The Town Council and the Girostudi coordination team encourage everyone to attend this informative talk to discover the value of the study. At the same time, they remind those who are randomly selected in the near future that their participation is vital. Saying “yes” to the Girostudi invitation is a simple gesture, but one of great importance in helping to build a healthier future for the entire community.
