Girostudi arrives in Blanes: interviews begin May 29

The municipality in the La Selva region joins the project to provide its health data. Testing and blood draws will take place at the city’s two primary care centers (CAPs), and the City Council will host a public information session on June 11.

The great health shift continues its journey through the Girona region and stops in La Selva. Blanes is the new municipality joining the rollout of Girostudi with a clear goal: to collect “local data”. We want to know exactly how the residents of Blanes live, what their habits are, how they interact, what they eat, and the air they breathe. All these factors make up what science calls our exposome, and they directly determine our health.

An opportunity to design the future of the town

The arrival of Girostudi presents a great opportunity for Blanes, as it will allow the municipality to gather new and unprecedented data about the health of its population. The participation of a representative sample of citizens—young people, adults, and seniors—will provide an accurate picture of the local situation. This local knowledge will not just gather dust; instead, it will be key to making evidence-based decisions and designing much more effective municipal policies aimed at improving everyone’s well-being.

Public information session

To explain the project firsthand and answer any questions about how the random selection is carried out and what the tests involve, an open session for all residents has been scheduled:
  • Date: Tuesday, June 11
  • Time: 8:00 p.m.
  • Location: Plenary Hall of the Blanes City Council

Start of interviews and testing schedules

The contact and data collection process officially begins on May 29. To make the process as easy as possible for participants, the testing and sample collection phase has been closely coordinated with the city’s primary care centers, and will be distributed as follows:
  • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: participants will be seen at CAP Blanes Centre.
  • Tuesday and Thursday: blood draws will take place at CAP Blanes 2.
The Girostudi team would like to thank the Blanes City Council and primary care professionals for their cooperation in making this rollout possible. To all residents of Blanes: if you receive a call from Girostudi, say yes! Together, we can make this health-boosting shift a reality.
